Mount Forest Real Estate and Homes for Sale

As a real estate agent who specializes in Mount Forest, let me be your guide to what Mount Forest Ontario has to offer as a neighbourhood to finding homes for sale in the area.

Originally known as Maitland Hills, the unincorporated present-day community of Mount Forest began as a European settlement along the prime hunting grounds of the Saugeen River Ojibway tribe. It is said that the nearby White Bluffs region is an ancient and highly sacred area containing numerous Ojibway burial sites. The name was changed to Mount Forest in the mid-1800’s when it was discovered that the township was not situated along the Maitland River as was previously assumed.

Today, the Mount Forest community and its 5,000 residents are a part of the Wellington North Township located in the southwest region of Ontario Province. The town offers all residents an outstanding quality of life that is dedicated to community and family with a feeling of rural, small town living. It is without a doubt, one of the best places in Ontario Province to live, play and work, especially for younger families and retirees.

Mount Forest will surprise you with the number of business services that are available as well as the abundance of retail shops that cater to both guests and tourists along with the locals and the workforce. Parents and children alike will enjoy a number of signature attractions and events including the annual Top 100 Mount Forest Fireworks Festival and the Village of Arthur which has been nicknamed “Canada’s Most Patriotic Village.”

The quality of life that you can experience by living in Mount Forest is attributed to a number of factors including the clean air and water, beautiful scenery, peaceful neighborhood streets, and proven agricultural tradition as well as an overall healthier environment. Additionally, the convenient healthcare and excellent educational facilities are a big plus, especially for families with children. There is also a rapidly-growing arts community complete with several galleries. Come see how you can start living, playing, and working in a semi-rural setting with all the amenities of an urban community.
