Hanover Real Estate and Homes for Sale

As a real estate agent who specializes in Hanover, let me be your guide to what Hanover Ontario has to offer as a neighbourhood to finding homes for sale in the area.

Located in the southern portion of Ontario, the town of Hanover is actually situated along the Saugeen River on the border of Bruce and Grey Counties. Considered by many to be one of the province’s major manufacturing hubs, the town features an abundance of factories and farms which are the two primary industry employers of the area. Today, Hanover is a growing community and is approaching the 7,500 population mark.

For all intents and purposes, it is an ideal location for growing families as well as retirees. But it also appeals to the real estate investor. Since Georgian Bay and Lake Huron are nearby, Hanover residents are only minutes away from boating, swimming, and a number of other watersports. However, with the Saugeen River running through town, you’ll be treated to some of the best canoeing that Ontario Province has to offer as well as some outstanding salmon and trout fishing.

Additionally, the headquarters of the Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority lies just outside the southern boundaries of the township. You can go bird watching, cross-country skiing, hiking, or just enjoy a relaxing family picnic. Hanover also offers activities and entertainment for all age groups. Some of the community cultural groups are the Grey-Bruce Singers, Hanover Community Players, and Hanover Youth Choir.

You can enjoy an evening out over dinner at one of many restaurants and take in a movie at the Paramount theatre or one of Ontario Province’s last remaining drive-ins. A variety of children's activities and swimming lessons (taught year round) are available at the Regional Aquatic Centre. For the avid golfer, there are two courses to choose from and if you like hockey, go see the Hanover Barons minor league hockey team in action. As we mentioned above, Hanover is an ideal place for growing families and retirees to experience a more peaceful, rural lifestyle.
